Question: How can a fine art video installation be used to frame the experiential nature of place in an age of non-place supermodernity?
The phenomenon of place is central to Verity Treloar’s practice. Places evoke memories, feelings and sensations through a combination of figurative and abstract forms. This is reflected in her work which draws attention to our perception of place in the banal and the everyday: that which is often overlooked yet forms the essence of our experience of places. She offers a way of reconsidering the experiential nature of place through the art object.
