LEE JACKSON

Lee Jackson's research has been based on exploring the move from figurative to abstraction in painting, inquiring into the limits of painting by exploring abstraction and figurative works. By classifying himself as a painter, Jackson can paint “ whatever I feel like painting at the moment (highs, lows, whatever) “ (De Kooning). Figurative and abstraction, dissonant, incompatible, disparate, his works are a way for him to decipher layers of art history, emotions, attachments and sensations through a painterly surface.
