ISLA MARNIE BROWN
I am a British-Turkish illustrator based in the South West. My practice is process lead, exploring how simple line work can tell a large story. My interest in illustration grew from a wanting to create art that is accessible to people who would not normally seek out art galleries.
This project challenges the depictions of women in the One thousand and one nights.
The Nights is a story about storytelling and its power. I want to examine how we in the west tell stories about others cultures.
