UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE SHOWS
15–20 June 2019
BA (HONS) FINE ART
Our Fine Art students root their practices in drawing, printmaking, performance and creative writing, which enables them to create dynamic and engaging artwork through 2D, 3D, 4D and cross-disciplinary ways of working. The programme encourages diversity in thinking and making, based on the potential in material exploration, social engagement, collaborative working, cross-fertilisation of ideas, and the exploration of new concepts and materials.
Students are supported in developing their practice through a framework of professional practice opportunities, including a programme of artist lectures, exposure to public exhibitions in our onsite exhibition space, The Gallery, and opportunities to engage with some of the UK’s most exciting contemporary art spaces - including Tate Exchange at Tate Modern, Spike Island and Ocean Studios.
Dedicated studio space and access to the college’s facilities, including the FabLab, printmaking workshops, textile workshops, glass and ceramics studios, digital and film equipment, ensure the students can experiment with their practice to produce ambitious, collaborative and innovative work.
This group of emerging practitioners - nascent thinkers and makers – have immersed themselves in self-imposed challenges, embracing the uncertain distance between established ways to do and the need to propose an alternative viewpoint.
